This tour offers a perfect introduction to Scotland’s most iconic landscapes, castles, and Highland culture.
Day 1 - Glencoe & Eilean Donan Castle – Isle of Skye
Journey to Loch Lubnaig in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. We depart Edinburgh and head northwest, waving hello to the Scottish Highlands. We will see the Great Moor of Rannoch and we'll make several stops at iconic viewpoints along the way to Glen Coe. You'll have a chance to gaze upon the iconic white house and the majestic Three Sisters—three imposing peaks steeped in myth and legend.
Continue to Highlands to Eilean Donan Castle. Perched on a tidal island and surrounded by looming mountains, often shrouded in mist, there's something moody about this castle. No wonder it's the most photographed castle in Scotland. Arrival on the Isle of Skye, dinner and free evening at the Hame on Skye.
Day 2 - Exploring Skye
There is nothing quite like the Isle of Skye, which is why we're drawn to it time and again. Skye doesn't do things halfway. It's a landscape of unfathomable beauty, of sheer rock peaks and powerful moments that stay with you long after you've gone. Skye made her on-screen debut years ago. From Stardust to Snow White and the Huntsmen, Transformers: The Last Knight to The BFG, Skye makes the perfect dramatic setting for many of our favourite films.
Later this afternoon we head for Talisker Distillery for an included tour and tasting.
Day 3 - Inverness & Rogie Falls
Journey back to the mainland, Dornie. Farewell, Skye. Once more over the Skye Bridge, and we're back on the mainland of Scotland, heading inland along lochs and through valleys until we reach our first main stop of the day. Optional walk at Rogie Falls. Situated along the Black Water River in the Highlands, this series of waterfalls are surrounded by a range of woodland walks. Stop at Inverness - Capital of the Highlands. A gateway for some, but a hub for you to indulge today. There's plenty to see, but what better way to round off this experience than enjoying some fine Highland cuisine? Your driver-guide can show you some of the city's hidden culinary gems before we continue our journey back down south. We stop for refreshments in the charming Perthshire town of Pitlochry which is worthy of a photo or two itself!
Journey from Pitlochry to Edinburgh. It's the final stretch of your journey, so take a moment to soak in the landscapes unfolding before you. As you journey south, rugged mountains and dense forests give way to the rolling pastures and sheep-dotted fields of the Kingdom of Fife. Crossing the Firth of Forth, with Scotland's three iconic bridges in view, you'll have plenty of stories to share—or perhaps even a new recipe to try! You return to Edinburgh at approximately 7.00pm.
