Amazon Peru: Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion 4 Days 2026
4 Days: Puerto Maldonado, Amazon Jungle
Tour overview:
Deep within the heart of the Amazon – where the story of Inkaterra first began – lays Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción, located between the Tambopata National Reserve and the shores of the Madre de Dios River. During your stay, you will have a change for overland treks and excursions on the river to learn about the rainforest and its ecosystems.
Day 1 - Puerto Maldonado - Arrival to Hacienda Concepcion
Begin your Amazon adventure in Puerto Maldonado, the Capital of Biodiversity. After a 25-minute boat ride on the Madre de Dios River, you will arrive at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción Lodge. Settle into your cabin or room and enjoy a buffet lunch at Casa Grande before heading into the trails of Concepción, where you will discover the diversity of Amazonian flora and fauna in a protected environment. As night falls, participate in a boat ride and watch the jungle transform, spotting caimans on the banks and enjoying a starry sky. End the day with a dinner inspired by native ingredients and the night sounds of the jungle. (L, D)
Day 2 - Tambopata Reserve - Canopy Interpretation Centre
Start your day with a buffet breakfast from 05:30 before visiting Sandoval Lake, a beautiful body of water in the Tambopata National Reserve. Navigate in a wooden canoe through the lake's canals, home to diverse species such as birds, giant river otters and black caimans. Return to Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción for lunch. In the afternoon, experience the exciting Inkaterra Canopy Walkway and Anaconda Walkway, where you can observe the forest from the treetops. Enjoy the sunset with cocktails from the observation tower or spend the night in a tree house (additional services). Upon your return, consider the Hidden Jungle under the moon tour or relax in our Nua Spa. A la carte dinner awaits you from 19:00. (B, L, D)
Day 3 - Native farming excursion - Visit to the botanical garden - Fishing activity
After breakfast at the lodge, explore our organic bio-garden, where you will discover tropical plants and their medicinal uses according to local traditions. Then, visit the Palmetum, a collection of Amazonian palm trees dedicated to restoration and conservation. In the afternoon, enjoy paddling a wooden canoe on the Cocha Concepción, a horseshoe-shaped lagoon formed by the remnants of the Madre de Dios River. Navigate its clay-colored waters while watching birds such as shanshos and flycatchers, with the roar of howler monkeys in the background. Admire the remains of the Fitzcarrald steamboat and learn about its history, which inspired the film “Fitzcarraldo” by Werner Herzog. Before dinner, join the Collpas Tierra Adentro excursion to visit a clay lick. Although spotting wildlife can be a matter of luck, you will learn how these clay walls attract various mammals near the lodge. (B, L, D)
Day 4 - Puerto Maldonado - Morning at leisure - Departure
Enjoy your last morning waking up to the sounds of the jungle as parakeets chatter from the trees and monkeys glide through the branches. Breakfast is served at Casa Grande, and check-out is at 10:00. Depending on the time of your return flight, you may request lunch (additional cost applies). Board your wooden boat for a 25-minute boat ride back upriver to the airport. (B)
